Japanese Exfoliating Glove

Pack of 1 is one Black glove, dual-sided. Pack of 2 gets you Black and Pink, which is what most people end up ordering once they realise they want one living in the shower and one in the gym bag. Both packs ship with a care card covering the wash routine and how often to use each side.

Most exfoliating cloths are flat, so they slide across your skin and take off maybe half of what's sitting there. The hex pattern is raised, so each cell catches dead skin and lifts it out instead of pushing it around. You get more off with less pressure, which matters if you've been scrubbing hard and still ending up with bumps.

The silver ions are spun into the fibre itself rather than coated on top, so they don't rinse away after a few showers. Silver stops bacteria multiplying in the damp weave, and bacteria is what gives a two-week-old loofah that sour smell. Rinse it, hang it, and it stays fresh for months.

Side B, the Korean smooth side, is soft enough for every day. Use it on your face, neck, chest and anywhere thin-skinned. Side A is the Japanese weave and it's a lot more aggressive, so keep that to 2 or 3 times a week on arms, legs, back and feet. If your skin runs reactive, use Side B only for the first week and see how it settles.

Your skin feels smoother the first time you use it, mostly because you've taken off a layer that's been sitting there for a while. The bigger change takes longer. For bumpy arms, strawberry legs, or rough patches on the backs of the thighs, give it 2 to 3 weeks with Side A about 3 times a week. Keep the routine going and it stays that way.

Rinse it under the tap, wring it out, hang it somewhere it can dry properly. It doesn't need the washing machine, though a cool cycle won't hurt it. The one thing to avoid is leaving it bunched up on the shower floor, because that's how any cloth starts to smell. Treated well it holds its texture for 3 months or more.
